Milk paint is translucent and creates a beautiful finish on wooden furniture. It comes in a variety of colors to complement any decor.
The results can be unpredictable, which for me is part of the charm. I like a distressed look to my pieces of furniture. Sometimes the milk paint distresses very easily, other times not so much. And sometimes it crazes and chips right off.
If the surface is glossy, a light sanding is all that's needed for preparation. And then a coat of varnish to protect it. You can apply the milk paint with a brush, roller or sprayer.
So if you like to experiment and play, then try it out on a small piece first. I think you'll love it!
Can you tell me what a pudmuckle is? I thought the term described a tole painting stroke, but I cannot find it listed or illustrated anywhere. My email
Cheryl, Is it necessary to spray artwork with an acrylic spray if I use a quality canvas listed as “archival”? Cheryl, are you still writing newsletters?
